Transfiguration

Sotto Voce Arts festival

“And yet it moves” Galileo Galilei- the early 17th century astronomer quote has been taken as a starting point for discussions, collaborations, exhibitions and various events to celebrate the creativity, experiment, the power of the open mind and the importance of questioning, thinking, being brave and having opinion.

The 2nd part of the exchange between artist from South East England with artists from South east of Italy will take place between 12.07 and 26.07. 2015.

With the musical, theatre events, and workshops, comes a large exhibition which will happen at St.Mery in the  Castle, and at the Robertson street, Hastings.

Being one of the artists in residence I am looking forward to the project to start next week.

THE JUG SERIES

The “JUG SERIES” have  appeared as a result of my collaboration with poet and writer Jaclyn Piudik. Our project “For Rituals and Visuals” has been going through different stages – all of them fullfilling and inspiring for me.

The works in the “Jug series” so far  have been created at the start of 2024 and I continue  adding new pieces. Thay loosely reflect the impressions and colours of Gascony, where we briefly met with Jaclyn, in the summer of 2023.Importantly, they are result of our exchange of visuals and verses and their impact on our creative imagination.

These are  cut outs compositions and collages, made of paper scraps from works, I have decided to discard and repurpose. In this process, I continue changing the imagery, painting and drawing on the surface, adding new layers of meaning. Jaclyn has written some beautiful short poems to pair with them.
